Only Dr. Pepper

Only a diet dr. pepper would have made this day better. Last Sunday, we took off to the park in between AM and PM naps. Cap loves to swing and loves to explore anything old or new! So we did just that. We enjoy watching him see new things and use all his senses to figure things out. It is great. Then we took off for a Subway lunch and back home for nap time.

After Cap woke up, it was time to be outside again. This time we decided to make a fire in our pit in our backyard. This is something we don't do enough. Cap of course loved it and so did we. We would like to do it more often when the weather is good enough to do so. May be even cook over it a little bit too.

watching his dad make a fire

we like to do this whole chin thing with each other
you would just have to see it in person
he is loving to point these days

I hope you enjoyed our day in pictures. Wish you could have been there with us. I sure love my family!

No Earthly Idea

I am having lots of trouble loading the pictures I took in Texas onto the blog. I also have had a 8 month update for Cap since last weekend but the camera I took the pictures on is not currently at our house...I know, it's complicated. So, to make up for this, and to let you know we are alive and well, here are a few pics from before Texas!

using a Johnny Jumper as a swing

We are all doing good. Bryce has about a month left of school this semester!! I just finished a 10 week study on I and II Kings looking at the lives of Elijah and Elisha. It was a women thing offered at the church we have been going to. It was awesome. Looking forward starting the next one in January. Growing a bunch, thinking, and getting creative. Hope you all are well!

8 Months

It has been a very big month around the Ball household. It is crazy to think we are in the middle of November and Thanksgiving is just around the corner. We have stayed pretty busy lately, but the good kind of busy. I still have tons of pictures to share from our trip to Texas. What a GREAT time we had there with family! Here are some fun facts about our amazing son Cap this month.

- got his first tooth at 7 months and 1 week (we had no idea he was even teething)
- the next day he started his version of crawling...so a very BIG 24 hours for us
- a week later tooth number two appeared (still had no idea, it just showed up)
- at exactly 7 months he started consistently pooping in the pot. the only time he poops in his pants is if it happens during a nap. we are loving this!!! infant potty training is going great! worth the hard work!
- he is officially a fast crawler. however, he doesn't use all fours. his left leg stays stiff. pretty cute!
- he is super into opening and closing doors, cabinets, and the fridge. pretty much anything that will open and close actually. he is very serious about it too. we call it his job.
- he gives really good hugs. sometimes he will hold on so tight you can't get him off!
- loves empty plastic water bottles.
- likes to be put in a box, also very serious about opening and closing all the flaps
- likes to chew on the leather sandal on my key ring
- still blue eyes
- strawberry blonde hair
- 12-18 month clothes depending on brand, mostly latter
- sleeps 12 to 12 1/2 hours straight at night, 7-7
- takes 2 to 3 naps a day depending on the length
- does this funny smile while squinting his eyes and face on purpose, just started that
- today I am pretty sure he signed "more" with his hands...we shall see though
- eats chunks of food now instead of everything pureed.
- added, spinach, carrots, pears, broccoli, peas, wheat bread, puff thingy, egg yoke to his eating repertoire...can't say he likes it all though
- sings loud at church and dances
- cute as ever and a joy to be around!

I am sure there is a lot more I could say, but this will do. We are having a good time and trying to enjoy the outdoors while it is still enjoyable. Texas pictures next time!
Enjoy,
spesh
