Happy Birthday my sweet dear Capitan!! What a year! Every hour since the middle of the night last night, I have been thinking where I was in labor at this time last year. As I type this the night before the Big Day, I was finally getting to the hospital after laboring at home for 15-16 hours. I really thought the Kid would come on the 12th! If only I knew how hard of time he was going to have coming out!!!! We are so thankful to have spent the year as Cap's mom and dad. What a blessing you are son and a joy to be woven into our family. We are so proud of you and who you are becoming. We love you. Happy 1st year!
- weighed 22.10 one week ago
- took his first steps 4 days before his 1st birthday
- back to not eating
- he has been in the same size clothes since October (in hopes he will be in full time undies next winter, his pants should still fit since they are 18-24 month size)
- does not like hard soled shoes on his feet
- signs 'more' for many things these days...anytime he wants something opened, pulled down, etc.
- also signs 'more' when he says again
- wipes his nose with the back of his hand
- likes the nose sucker thing now since we use it ALL day
- after he poops in the toilet, he like to flush it and light a match (we light it of course)
- did not eat any of his birthday cupcake this weekend (more on that later)
- forward facing in the car now and loving it!
- sick for almost 5 weeks straight
- he LOVES his blanket and LOVES to rest his head on us and cuddle...usually not for too long though
- has a thing for feta cheese (comes from a goat)
- when he wants up he hikes up his right leg way up like a climber
- we taught you "no" a couple of weeks ago. you have done awesome with it! (more on that later also)
- likes the park but would rather just slide a few times and then walk all over the place
- starting to get his 2 front teeth and we also think the 2 side ones next to them are coming in soon
- great helper. give this boy a rag and he will copy his mama wiping down whatever needs some wipen'
- gets very excited when we go to the farm to take our compost. likes to watch the chickens, goats, and Lou the turkey do their thing
- not as good at signing for potty due to being sick for so long:(
- took his first nap in the nursery during my women's bible study!!! i was shocked! and so were the sweet ladies who watch him!
- great at asking (signing) for help
I am sure he is doing much more. He is a growing sponge watching and listening to everything around him. He can be SO funny at times, and of course, hard to be around other times!!! Enjoying the moment...
